Beverly Bocce Club allows two to four players on a team. Each player is given two balls (boccia). After the opening coin flip, Team A rolls the pallino (small white ball) and follows up with one of their larger balls. Team B then rolls and continues to roll their balls until they get closer to the pallino than their opponent's ball. Once

Players are awarded one point for each ball closer than the opponent's closest ball nearest to the pallino ball . Players may also throw on the fly (volo), striking the ball to move the point ball. Balls, including the pallino, may also be displaced by the balls of other players.
Games are played to 11 with Championship round games to 15.
Founded in 2018, Beverly Bocce Club saw the opportunity to offer a community based program for people of all ages and skill levels. The founders of Beverly Bocce Club grew up playing bocce in Rochester, NY while visiting their grandparents who immigrated over from Sicily. What started thousands of years ago, is now officially on the Southside of Chicago.
